MAM: YouTube Plans, London, Journaling

Miles Ahead Monday

Hey Reader,

This past week I returned home from my trip to London.

After a three month period of intense focus, this was a much needed holiday.

Taking time off from work and my normal routine while also being in a completely different country really helped me pause, take a step back, and reflect on where I want to take my life next.

This is something I like to do about once a quarter (traveling to a different country is not required).

I treat it similar to how people approach the start of a new year.

It's a time for me to analyze how the past few months have gone and what I want the next few months to look like.

I often talk to close family or friends and ask them for their opinion.

But most importantly I dedicate time to just think.

I write my thoughts in my journal as if I were thinking on to the page.

The act of writing things down, especially by hand, is probably the best way I've found to get clarity on something in my life.

There's something about having to write each individual word one at a time that helps me turn the chaotic, emotional mess that is my thoughts into something more coherent.

It usually quickly becomes clear that things aren't actually as big of a deal as they seemed in my head.

As a chronic over-thinker, journaling has become an essential tool to keep me sane 😅

Alright so what came out of the quarterly reflection I did this past week?

Well it'd be a lot to share in a single email, but one thing I'll for sure be focusing on for the remainder of 2025 is...

Drum roll please...

Making YouTube videos!

Wait Miles isn't that what you've been doing this whole time??

Okay yes yes this is nothing new. You're likely reading this because you've watched my YouTube videos.

But although I've continued to make videos every month, I feel like it hasn't been getting my full attention.

I haven't been uploading as much as I'd like to and I haven't been consciously putting effort into improving each and every video.

I've also realized that I genuinely just love the act of creating videos.

Writing, filming, and yes even editing.

There's something about it that simultaneously targets both the creative, artistic side of me and the logical, technical side.

But to be honest I feel like the videos I've been making lately haven't been my best work.

I know I've made a great video when I find myself casually watching it back while I'm editing or after I've posted it.

And with the rise of AI I want to differentiate myself by being even more creative and "real" in my videos.

I want to show more of my personality and my everyday life.

At the same time, I always want to respect your time as a viewer.

My goal is to make it so that when you click on one of my videos, you know that you'll for sure walk away with your life being just a little bit better.

Whether it's by learning something, feeling inspired, or simply getting enjoyment out of the pleasing visuals and good vibes.

That's my commitment to you and I hope that you'll continue to join me on this journey navigating through life and sharing my experiences on YouTube.

Thank you and I hope you have an excellent week.

🤝 Miles

P.S. I just posted a new video yesterday showcasing a few ways I've been using Notion to organize parts of my life.
