Miles Ahead Monday: 10x Productivity, Carnivore Diet, Turning Pro

Miles Ahead Mondays

Hey Reader,

Here is Miles Ahead Monday, my weekly newsletter where I share productivity hacks, lessons I’ve learned, topics I’m exploring & more. Feel free to forward to a friend if you find it interesting.

Productivity Hack

Do Less: One of the best ways to get more done is by actually doing less. Sounds simple, right? But it’s surprisingly tough to pull off when you’re a capable person like you with different opportunities and influences pulling you in multiple directions.

We’ve all got a limited amount of energy—let’s say 100 energy points—to spread across everything we’re juggling. By “energy points,” I mean a mix of time, physical energy, cognitive effort, mental bandwidth, etc. —basically everything you’ve got to give. The more stuff we take on, the less energy we can give to each thing. But when we cut back and focus on just a few key things, our efforts become way more effective, and the results can be huge.

For example, if we were to drop half of our commitments we wouldn’t just double our output, we could easily 3x, 5x, or 10x our results. I’ve seen this happen multiple times in my own life and try to constantly keep this in mind. Every now and then, I have to hit pause, look at everything I’m working on, and ask, “What’s the main thing I should be focusing on?”

Habit I’m Building

Lately, I’m doing my best to get back into eating a clean animal-based/carnivore diet. I undoubtedly feel the best regarding my energy levels, mental sharpness, productivity, and overall health when I eat this way. If you’ve seen any of the vlogs I posted while I was in NYC you’ll know that I deviated from my typical nutrition regimen quite a bit. I find it easy to stick to a carnivore diet while cooking at home but eating out is a real challenge. So over the next month or so my focus habit will be dialing in my nutrition. I’ll probably make some videos on the topic as I’ve gotten a few comments asking how much I spend on food and I’m super passionate about the whole subject.

What I’m Reading

This week, I started Turning Pro by Steven Pressfield. It’s a follow-up to his earlier book, The War of Art, where he delves into the concept of Resistance—the invisible force that holds us back from doing our best creative work. In Turning Pro, Pressfield explores how the act of “turning pro” is the key to overcoming this Resistance and transforming our lives. I loved The War of Art so much that I had to pick up Turning Pro, and I’m finding it incredibly relevant to my current journey of wanting to “turn pro” with my YouTube channel.

Have a productive week!
